Hoping for some help from the experts, please?

I've run into a few problems that so far, I can't find the answers to. Here it goes:

 

1)I've run into a few people on my server who are hiding their IP address somehow even though I have all instances of allowanonymous set to 0. My questions are: how are they doing this and more importantly how do I prevent this(or atleast prevent them from connecting to me)? Usually the ones who do this cause trouble on my server and I obviously can't ban them without it.

 

2) Does anyone know of a program to log an attempted DOS or crack attack? I've tried running my firewall with the game but it always interferes even when I give the program access.

 

3)Is there any way for me to strictly spectate my server without the game spawning me in? Sometimes I want to connect to see what's going on, especially if someone is causing trouble, and I don't actually want to play at that time.

 

Any help with these issues would be GREATLY appreciated, especially the first two.

Question #1

 

What are you using to get the IP Addy's? Just doing a status? I get everything logged in my firewall. Anything that comes in looking for open ports gets logged. Everything coming in on 28070 gets logged.

 

 

Question about #2

 

What kind of firewall are you using? I have my game server behind a Linux firewall. I set the firewall rules to forward requests on ports 28000-28090 to the internal ip of the game server. So far no problems and no lag.

 

If you are using Zonealarm, Kerio, Tiny or Norton IS, I am not sure what to do.

1)I found a program that lets me see their IP:cool: The console just wasn't showing them with status.

 

2)I'm running WinXP PRO with Zonealarm Pro 3

 

3)Pretty cool program, I'm gonna check it out. Thanks for letting me know about it. It's to bad he hasn't updated it with the other features he talked about in April. I probally would have paid money for it just to support it.

Out of curiosity do you have

 

seta g_allowAnonymous "0" in your server.cfg?

 

I have that in mine. status always gives me ip addresses.....

Hmm.. I never had a problem getting a person's ip with "\rcon status" command. Is that what you where using?

 

If not use that its the easiest way to get a person's ip and use it to ban them from server.

 

I actaully had to do that today.. Can you believe some of these people out there? Geez..
