Alright, i'm trying to see what I can do in 3D max with sabers. I can get the shapes and model looking good. But when it comes to unwrapping and skinning it im lost. I cant find a tutorial for 3D max for uv unwrapping...

I try using npheros' md3 compiler or whatever. But when I open the md3 file the viewer is black.. No wireframe on there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated:P

Also, what plug-in can I use to import .md3 files into 3D Max 4?

I've tried a couple but none have worked so far. And I really need to import the original JKII saber to see if the praportions are right.

Cause I think the saber model I have now is like 2 times the size of a character model :D

Thanks!

to import a model, import it into milkshape first, then export it as a .3ds file

or you could just import your 3ds file into milkshape and open the original and resize it in there.

Don't use NPherno's compiling tools, JK doesn't like them. Just export out of max (after you uvw and unwrap the saber), import into md3 viewer, and then export to a glm and make a pk3 for your saber.
