I am running a P4B533 P4 2.0 GHZ w/ GF4TI4400, with 512 DDR RAM, and I have been running the game with 1024 Full detail (no options turned off), and no tweaking. except for VSync which the default is OFF.I get 105 FPS in the jk2ffa demo. That's fine and everything, but I have some questions When I turn VSYNC on for game play - it makes the game image smoother, but then drops my FPS to 60. I attempted to put in the commands to boost the refresh rate to 85, even 100 to match my LG 795FT Plus, but it doesn't seem to work. I have also increase com_HunkMegs to "256" but it doesn't seem to be making a difference. I would like to turn VSYNC on to improve image smoothness, but I don't want to sacrifice FPS. Can someone give me some detailed advice please? Greatly appreciated.
Deetox187 Posted July 24, 2002 Posted July 24, 2002 Put r_displayrefresh "100" in your autoexec.cfg, if it still doesn't work then you probably have the dreaded winXP/2000 refresh rate bug which keeps it at 60. There is a util called NVRefreshTool which you can use to remedy that problem, i think you can get it at http://www.guru3d.com hope that helps you.
