Eklin
Okay, I posted about this before, and I thought I had it figured out, and I can now get anywhere between 1 and 30 fps. But, I just found out that most people get 70 - 90 fps!!! I'll post my system specs, and you tell me what I need to upgrade. I desperately need help, cuz the game really lacks when it's moving this slow. Cicero Computer (no clue what make/model) Pentium 3 Geforce 3 Ti 500 64 mb graphics card 800 mH No clue about the sound card, it's like 2 bits or something crappy like that (it's so bad that the sound sometimes goes into slow motion, or it just shuts off completely. Even when I'm doing nothing at all on the comp). 320 mb RAM 24x10x24 speed disk drive Windows ME 1024 x 768 resolution 26 gb of free harddrive space That's all I can think of right now. If you need any info in diagnosing my problem, just ask and I'll try to find it. Thanks.
Ancient_Cloud
The same thing is happening to me. Eversince i installed the new patch i have had crappy framerates. It jumps from 30 to 90. In a matter of millaseconds. I have a DSL 640 kbps. Ive tried chaning my video configration but nothing makes it better. Can anyone help me:confused:
Eklin
Even when I set all the video options to their lowest settings, it doesn't do much. It gives me about an extra 5 fps tops. Does ANYBODY have any info.
Deetox187
Try the new detonator drivers at http://www.guru3d.com, dunno if it will fix your problem but i found these drivers much faster than older versions. Also how fast is your Pentium 3? cause if you have a P3 450 mhz or something like that you can't expect high framerates.
Eklin
I have all my system specs posted at the top. I have 800 something gH, so you'd think that's kinda good. But apparently it's not. Should I upgrade my RAM, my gH, my sound card, or what?
Deetox187
Sorry i didn't notice the 800mh on your spec list the first time i looked at it, yes that should be fast enough to run the game at a good speed seeing as you have it paired with a geforce3.. your ram situation is ok too (although more is always better)... But it very well could be your sound card, try this: right click my computer and click properties to go into device manager, in the list of hardware components find your soundcard, right click and hit properties again and click disable. Your soundcard will now be shut down until you enable it again. Now start jk2 and see if your framerates have dramatically increased, if they have then your soundcard is the problem and you should get a new one. Eklin
Thanks for the advice. But, for some reason, my sound card doesn't exactly stand out in my hardware profile. I found the Sound/Video controlers category, but theres about 4 things in there, and I have no clue which one actually operates the sound card. And I don't wanna accidentally bugger up my computer by disabling the wrong thing. I always had a feeling that it was my soundcard, so tomorrow I'm just gonna go out and get a decent, 32 bit soundcard with 3D sound capabilities, and I'll also try and pick up another 512 MB of RAM. That should help to speed up JK2 (as well as Spider-Man: The Movie, which I picked up today and is totally fricking awesome! Just needs some authentic music by Chad Kroeger in the background, instead of that techno-midi crap...)
