SlapNut Posted July 24, 2002 Author Posted July 24, 2002 well i keep hearing about this game spy thing when i go to this site and i keep hearing gamespy this game spy that, yes ive been to gamespy.com a few times to read gaming reviews, but nothing to do with JKII MP servers and stuff, so someone pleas tell me what this is!
Nhoj Posted July 24, 2002 Posted July 24, 2002 Gamespy alone is a company. They have two major products that are used for game launching. The first (my favorite) is GameSpy3D. It works with just about any multi-player game. You set up "groups" based on the game in question and it list the game servers with address, ping time, etc. To enter a particular server, just double-click it and it will launch the the game and connect to that server. It's a really nice tool. It also allows me to setup buddy lists so I can see if someone I know is playing on any given server. The other/newer one (which I hate) is GameSpy arcade....it has a built-in IRC client so you can chat on the GameSpy servers/channels, but the interface is way too clunky for me. I can get you a screen shot of GS3D, if you want when I get home.
