blackfire Posted July 24, 2002 Share Posted July 24, 2002 You've got to love Raven and LA, they can nerf moves and make other stupid changes, but they can't seem to fix the damn server command overflow crashes and other real bugs like people somehow bumping themselves up in the duel list. I finally upgraded to 1.04 with the hopes that they actually fixed these things, but of course not. The server side of things still needs some real work, but of course they won't fix those things. I think people using all these binds is part of the problem here, they are changing skins and saber colors so fast that the server can't keep up, especially when someone else is lagged out at the same time. When I look through my logs, this seems to be what they were doing right before it crashed. Just a rant and observation and wondering what other server operators think about this and if you have come up with a solution? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
RavensSoul Posted July 26, 2002 Share Posted July 26, 2002 I'm definetly noticeing some things with the new patch. 1.03 worked good as far as these random crashes but now with the 1.04 patch my duels server is crashing almost 10 times a day now with just a message saying JK2Ded caused a error in unknown and to restart the machine if I keep having problems. Which is what was happening alot with the 1.02 patch .. I'm Getting pretty sick of it.. your thoughts about the Scripts that the kiddies are running seems to be in the right direction. DaNameLessOne Posted July 26, 2002 Share Posted July 26, 2002 My server has not crashed from this. Of course my motd states that using scripts is a prohibited and kickable / bannable offense. I generally log into and play on my server at night. anyone caught using the scripts while I am on gets kicked. They come back do it again, they get banned. Most of the people who play on my server know I mean business with the rules and the regulars follow the rules It would be nice though if Raven helped us out with that. I dislike all scripts from the saber changing color ones to the killtracker ones....... There should be a cvar that lets the server not accept these clients.....
