Spoon_Gouge Posted July 28, 2002 Posted July 28, 2002 Can anyone tell me how I could make a lightable torch? I would like to create a set of toches in an old temple that could be lit by shooting or sabering them. I am reasonbly certain I can turn on a light by shooting or sabering a target (such as the torch body), but how can I get the flame (and sound) to occur afterwards? Any clues (or definite answers)? UniKorn Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 You cannot switch lights on and off in the quake3 engine. It doesn't support true dynamic lighting.
volrathxp Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 yet there was an area in the single player game where you did turn the lights off.
Erazer Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 i've build a SP map in which you could turn the light off by shooting at it i think i just connected a trigger with the light
Takeoffyouhoser Posted July 29, 2002 Posted July 29, 2002 INstead of shooting it, why not do it with Force push or pull to activate the trigger. It would look alot cooler when Kyle waves his hand in the air and the torch lights up.
