-[MotU]-Lyger|=-
ok kids, i kno people on here can help me. so how do you lower the poly count? is there anyway to unsmooth the model so there isnt as many verticies??
Master Shawn
You dont need to worry about polys, well, I don't , worry about vertices, you can only have 1000 of them in the sabre for the game to accept it. To check the vertices, select everything in your sabre, and group it, goto edit, and the last option on the menu, theres a spot on the first panel that tells you vertices, if its under 1000, your OK, if not, time to do some side reducing and height segment reducing. Master Shawn
Select any object, and hit the second tab on the top right(if you have fooled with the GMAX configuration)and you will see on the bottom a few options for the geometry. You want to have 1 height segment in all available places(some edited things cant be reduced to 1 height segment). At this point also check to make sure it only says the object has 1 cap segment, that should always be one. Then, go to the sides indicator, cylinders are 18 and cones are 24 sided figures. You want to reduce this, first, make all cones 18 sides. Then, do as I said in my first post and check your vertex count. If its still over 1000, start reducing sides, check after you go down each level(17, 16, 15, ...) for the vertex count, once your below 1000 you can stop.
