s_mcclaydia
You know whats really messed up? Chewbacca played by Peter Mayhew never gets mentioned as a major character. My question is why not. He was in all three films, he was shown even before Harrison Ford was in A New Hope. He pieced together C-3PO, He fixed the cuplink on the Millenium Falcon, he put his life on the line at Jabba's Palace, and yet no recognition as a main character. Billy Dee Williams on the other hand who was only introduced in Empire Strike Back is credited as a main character. What did he do? Nothing, besided blow up the but not single handed. Its just not fair to treat Peter Mayhew so unequal. I really would just as soon kiss a Wookie.
Arceri
Yeah, but you can understand what Billy Dee said. R2D2 was in all three films and had a big part in all of em. He's not mentioned as a main character either, same for C3-P0. Does it really matter?

JrKASperov
Thank you for noticing this, I shall contact the wookie-rights committee soon:) What a shame, my Chewie-pewie was the main character in all the three movies!! He outplayed even Han!
Darth Talliusc
if you think him not getting credited as a main character is bad then im sorry to inform you that hes got it alot worse. in the later EU novels they actually kill him off, a moon fell on him.... im serious a moon really fell on him. nice wookie gets killed when almost ALL of the other characters from the movies get to live (ok a few died but not many) anyways, i was thinkign that chewie may be in ep3. its possible as hes 200 in ep4. anybody have any thoughts on that? I was thinking the same but where would he fit in? In EP4 he was talking with Obi-Wan in the catina so maybe they knew each other some how. Darth Talliusc
kyth im sorry to tell but yes it does. it doesnt affect what they do to the movies, or how GL makes his stuff but it does mean something, millions of people read it and love it. to these people it is important. i posted that part about chewie dying to emphasize that he has it rough. peter mayhew gets a certain amount from each chewbacca related item, as he is no longer part of it he no longer gets anything. as far as i know he never acted again. and besides, if you dont like the EU dont talk about it, but dont put it down either thats not nice. I agree and say the EU does mean something. There are hardcore fans out there who love Star Wars and go beyond the Saga. The Saga is just a segment of the whole universe. Star Wars seems like something created by Faulkner in that it is a living place full of more than one scene or planet.
Arkum
WTF? So he's not a main character, but everyone likes Chewie!
