Applying skins/maps/etc

Could someone please take through the exact steps in how to get add ons to take effect in the game. I downloaded some skins and I got a little folder with a zip on it, but when I click on it a folder containing only one file that windows cannot read and a read me file. Do I right click on the zip folder and send it somewhere? Please explain this to me like I'm the moron that I am. Thank you for your time and patience.

first you download the file. then you unzip the folder(thats the folder that says cant be read my window) during the unzipping it should ask you where you want to extract the folder to. after you extract it to a folder copy the extracted folders and place them in the gamedata|base folder. (that can be found when you explore jedi outcast folder)

Remeber you need WINZIP to do this.

I usually dowload the files to my Game Data folder.

c: program files/Lucasarts/Starwarsjediknight/Gamedata

 

Then I unzip the file using Winzip there.

 

The only files that need to be in your BASE folder are the pk3 files.

 

So just click and drag the pk3 files over and drop them into the BASE folder.

 

Now when you start the Multi player game you should see the new skins, maps, or mods you loaded.
