redrain85
Okay, I have a bunch of questions I'm hoping someone can answer. These are things that have been nagging me since I began editing JO a couple of months ago. For some of these, I just want to know if I'm the only one having these problems. 1. Does the global flag property of target_speaker actually work in JO? I tried using it, but the noise remained local. 2. Does the soundSet key in the worldspawn entity work? I know Raven used it in their maps, but every time I tried to, I got silence. 3. How do you prevent light from leaking through walls? I've heard the walls need to be at least 16 units thick. Well mine are, and they're flush with the floor and ceiling, yet light still leaks through. Is it because I used caulk on the unseen faces? 4. What is the difference between targetname and NPC_targetname? Does the script_targetname key work? I have scripts using NPC entities that work just fine, without having to use NPC_targetname. 5. What is the terrain shader for? I know the name suggests the obvious, use it for terrain. But what does it do, exactly? Thanks in advance.
JackNeilNC
The terrain shader is for using an alphamap to texture your terrain. So you have do not have to texture every face individially. Easygen will create a shader which will use this funktion. I tried to use this funktion but it does no work. Do anyone know a good tutorial about easygen and alphamaps? thx JackNeil
redrain85
Thanks for the info about the terrain shader, JackNeil! Can anyone please answer questions 1 and 2? I want to know if in JO or Radiant these features are broken, or if it's a problem with the configuration of my machine. (I suspect the latter.)
