Help with Door Sounds+++

Hey everyone, I'm a newbie when it comes to mapping and I've been working on the Facility from Goldeneye. It's coming along pretty well considering this is my first map ever. I do have a few problems.

1. I'm ready to add sounds to my doors for when they open. I want to use the sounds that are already in the assets0 pack. Could someone please help me with getting this to work?

2. I also am having a problem getting the Grate Shader to work. I make a brush and make sure it is all caulk. I'll then select just the one side showing and apply the grate texture and hit ctrl+f to fit it in. When I compile the map and test it it is just the brush as a whole white piece and can't even see through it.

Thanks so much and if you want to see pics of how my level is coming along go to: http://jedioutcastmaps.com/file.php?id=440

Only vote if you give it a 10! ;)

Well, the simpliest way to add sound to doors is to set a "soundset" key and value "impdoor1" to the door.

You can search for other soundsets in the sound.txt in the assets0.pk3.

You can find a door sound file and search its soundset in that file to use.

The original sound key for doors is "sounds" but i couldnt get it to work.

I tried adding the soundset to my door but when I go to load the map I get the error "1 Missing Sound sets (see above)" and it won't load my map.

As for the grating, I applied it to the whole brush and I still can't see through it. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Yeah, I would compile and run the map and there'd be no sound. But I did just figure a way to get it to work. I opened the first level of SP in JK2 (the Kejim Post) and simply copied one of their doors, resized it and gave it the door texture I wanted and the sound for the door worked just fine. I also looked up a different soundset that sounded better. It isn't exactly the best way to do it, but it worked. Thanks for the help anyways.
