I'm not really sure but you may need to open the model_default.skin with notepad. When you do...every time you see the name of the skin...change it to what you want yours to be called. Then use Pakscape or something and make it into a pk3. This will make it your own skin....I dunno how to replace current ones.

plus,

did the one you donwloaded work? before you changed it?

also the icon that shows up in the player list is called

icon_default.jpg

make sure after you changed it that the name remains the same.

and finally pak all those files into a new pk3, don't add the ones you changed back to the original, it won't replace it, rather it will save it as a different file. Just put the original padme.pk3 in a temp or old folder, and put your newly paked one in the base folder and see if it works.

oh and if you are going to use your version publicly in any way please ask the author for permission.

hope this helps
