Can you re-assemble models?

I was wondering if it is possible to re-arrange models? Example: putting a Rodian head on a female body, for a "female Rodian". Ive seen someone put a 4-LOM head on a protocol droid. Can you simply turn off the head, and turn on another. This would be really great for a quick model edit. Please someone help! Model Genie I need you!.............. K... Not funny.
