Adding music

Well, I read some tuts and it said that ti add music I open the entity window and find wordlspawn. Then type in music as the key and the path as the value. Well I did that and the music doesn't play.

The path is sound/kami/rosat.mp3

I think that there's a music directory that you have to put your music in, just like there's a script directory you have to put your scripts in. As well, don't include 'music' or 'sound' in the path, when you're referencing music/sounds.

I have to put the sound directory in the pathname. When I start the map this is what it says in the console: Mp3Err:Source File is not sampled sound/kami/rosat.mp3

a) Why do you have to put the sound into the source path? You don't have to put the script folder into a script's source path!

b) Have you tried using creating a music folder and storing it there?

I did that and it gives the same error. IF I take out music from the path name it ssays it can't find it.

You bring up entities with the n key the go down to worldspawn then in key type music then in the text box below type something like music/yaveintrial/trial_explore dunno if the directorys right but thats how

Yes, I did that, but when I go in-game there's no music playing and when I look at the console it says

Mp3Err:Source File is not sampled sound/kami/rosat.mp3

IS there something wrong wrong with the mp3?

Possibly. To test it, move your mp3 elsewhere, get one of raven's mp3's from the asset files, rename it to rosat.mp3 and move it where yours was. See if it works.

It only uses ...avi? But all the sound files in assets0 are mp3s? How is it possible that they only use avis if they didn't include any at all with the game?
