Is it just me...or are these boards takeing forever to load??? Even with broadband!!

Hi, I have a cable modem, and these boards just started to take forever to load a couple days ago, before than they were loading fast!! Is anyone else haveing this problem, broadband or not?

No, I'm having problems too (at 56K). They're taking way longer than usual the last couple of days or so.

 

Usually the page will time out and nothing will load.

I've got to say, I haven't noticed a problem, and I'm using a 28.8 modem.

Hmmm, interesting point Dave. I wonder if the problem is noticed more by those people who have been used to split second access and now have to wait just a few more seconds to get the page (though Darth Warts 56K modem should still not be timing out). The other thing is that when you (Dave Maul) are online you have the benefit of being on at a point when there is low traffic being from Europe (as I am as well). Just for interest sake have you noticed a slow-down on internet when it reaches early afternoon UK time? Where I am you can tell when the masses from North America start dialing in as it begins to take a few more seconds to load certain sites. Just thinking out loud, don't mind me.

Not only does it load slowly, but some posts aren't shown for several minutes if not longer after they're posted. For example, Weasel's post was done a little over an hour before mine, yet even though forum page said there was a new post and I had refreshed the page several times, his post didn't show until after I posted mine.

When I wake up, which is about 10am now (hey, it's the summer holidays), it loads up in a few seconds. Just logging on now, took half a minute. So I think you're right, Weasel, and it does make sense. When it gets to about noon UK time, America wakes up and logs on.

Jedi Kanigget, that has happened to me also!!!! that is the reason that sometimes I post two of the exact same message!! Also has anyone here having that problem tried any of the other boards?? They are all working fine. Hmmmm...does anyone know what is going on.

Hmm...There's a new post on the Everybody Must Read This topic, but I can't see it anywhere. And that was made about 6 hours ago. So I agree, something fishy is going on. I've never noticed these problems before. Maybe the mods are playing a joke on us, filling the forum with glitches like in the game.

I have also noticed the prob. also when the post reply page comes up it takes a little while to load. I'm using a 56k modem and it's 9:00 pm est. but I've been on at 12:00 pm. and same thing please mods, fix this prob. it's getting really annoying.

I know Kurgan is clueless to the problem, but what about the rest of the admins? Don't you people talk to each other? What's with the slowdown?
