keto Posted August 21, 2002 Share Posted August 21, 2002 hey i recently created a small forest area and wanted to have various birds chirping within the canopy above the player. upon creating a target_speaker i noticed the cool soundGroup key/value. so i entered the values as such looping-on soundGroup sound/ambience/yavin/bird%d.wav sounds 7 wait 3 random 3 i assumed that this woudl play the bird1-bird7 wavs with a wait of 3-6 seconds between them, i placed a couple of these in a few areas in the hopes that they woudl end up varying in their play times. though when i loaded up the map it said that the entity didnt have a noise value. in the description it said not to include one and exchange it for the soundGroup value instead. eventually after trying to mess with it i took out the sound group and just made lots of target speakers each with a noise value of bird1.wav all the way up to bird7.wav still keeping the random/wait time. when i loaded this up however it said somehting along the lines of that random could not be included. all of the other speakers that i have looping are working well. is there a problem of having it looping with a wait and random value? please excuse me if this has been answered some where elese i got to about page 19 of the mapping threads and decided to post a new topic about it as i didnt find anythign on this subject. thanks, -keto Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
