The Media Syndicate and its Affect on Liberty

In order to stray away from the other debacling *use correct?incorrect* thread I thought I'd talk about some things that I have been thinking about.

 

First, is the Major media news syndicate destroying liberties because without independent investigative reporting we will never had a watchdog *the media* on our government and therefore some civil liberties can be taken away without us knowing.

 

Second, what was the major cause of world war I. A history teacher at the naval academy was really getting into the subject like German economic problems and the french and the english were fighting for economics or something. He further explained that the US really had to reason to attack Germany over England or France *war of 1812 type deal and yes I know about Lucitainia and the close mexican invasion thing*. Does anyone else have information on the "real" story. Also, he further explained that since America had so helped to win the war that it caused German economic problems from all the war reparations. Then, that was the inevitable cause of WWII. He basically was trying to point at America getting involved in foreign wars is bad because we had caused WWII in a very influential but indirect manner. Any opinions/facts? Please no America/England/German bashing. Just facts and well kept opinions.

 

Lastly, does anyone know anything about these alligations against FDR that have become unearthed that direct him towards really enticing a Japaneese attack upon the U.S. I saw a book out but it looked to detailed and complicated to read at a time I should be reading school books. Anyone know anything about this.
