Help me with 3ds max!!!!!!!!

I've read lots of tutorials but I have one problem with my 3dsmax program. In the tutorial when they create a box you can see some squares in the perspective viewport so they can extrude the faces they want and when they're finish they can make it smooth to see the result. But me when I create a box I'm not getting any squares on it so it's smooth from the start and I can't extrude any face so I can't work properly.

 

Do you know what should I do?

Your going to have to increase the amount of sub-divisons. YOu can set the amount of sub-divisions the oject has when you first create the primitive.

 

 

For the box, you have the option to set the LENGTH WIDTH HEIGHT

First of all thank you for answering. But I already knew these options it's just that when I modify them I can see the changes on al the vieports except for the perspective one where the box doesn't change so there is no length, width or height segments that is visible on the box.

 

What should I do?

I think there is an option in the viewport to show edges.
