Slunker
Wait a second, don't the patches from LEC directly edit the .exe file? So, therefore, wouldn't it be possible to simply patch the multiplayer program, rather than create a whole new one? -Slunker
UniKorn
We do not know Raven Software's plans in these matters. It is up to them to decide wether they will release another patch. At this very moment they got 3 teams working since today I believe, so they will be very busy organising everything. 3 teams also means that they got a lot of work to do, so honestly I have no idea if there will be a new patch. Expandable
That is NOT true. It is NOT Raven's decision whether or not to release a new patch. That totally depends on LucasArts.
UniKorn
Yep, my apologies, it's a LEC decision.
Slunker
I meant wouldn't it be possible for WLS to create/release their own patch to make co-op work. -Slunker
Expandable
Well, if we could do this, this entire discussion would be pointless. The fact is, that we can't. Raven (or rather LEC/Activision) haven't released the needed source files to create our own "patch".
Slunker
WLS seem to be doing pretty well without example source. Thus, why I asked. Patchers seem like a difficult thing to create, but LEC/Raven were not the first two companies to create patcher programs... the real problem would be to create something to do this that would be considered LEGAL... heheh... *looks anxious...* -Slunker
UniKorn
There is no "legal" way to do this.
