Slunker Posted September 3, 2002 Posted September 3, 2002 Wait a second, don't the patches from LEC directly edit the .exe file? So, therefore, wouldn't it be possible to simply patch the multiplayer program, rather than create a whole new one? -Slunker

At this very moment they got 3 teams working since today I believe, so they will be very busy organising everything. 3 teams also means that they got a lot of work to do, so honestly I have no idea if there will be a new patch.

Expandable Posted September 3, 2002 Posted September 3, 2002 Well, if we could do this, this entire discussion would be pointless. The fact is, that we can't. Raven (or rather LEC/Activision) haven't released the needed source files to create our own "patch".

Patchers seem like a difficult thing to create, but LEC/Raven were not the first two companies to create patcher programs... the real problem would be to create something to do this that would be considered LEGAL... heheh... *looks anxious...* -Slunker
