You had the opportunity to see Episode One: Obi-Wan in action at E3, right?

Can you tell us more about it, other than what was on that preview you have on the net?

I'm wondering how smoothly the game runs, and if you saw any clipping or very noticible jaggies?

Also, in the multiplayer mode, is Darth Maul's double-bladed saber accessible?

I also noticed in one of the pics on the net, Obi-Wan is presumably battling Saesee Tiin, the Jedi Council Member - would you know anything about that?

Also, have the system requirements been announced yet?

Thanks a million in advance! smile.gif

Let me try. I really want people to EMAIL ME, so I can gather the questions up and write a FAQ and then get that posted on LG.com.

But I'll do my best to answer what you asked me here based on what I saw. In the preview we didn't want to post anything but the FACTS, so anything that is still up in the air or not done yet, we didn't include.

Incidentally, the line about "making our own editor" is incorrect. I didn't write that part, somebody added it after I submitted the article. The levels and models were made with 3D Studio Max, not an in-house editor like JK was, so they couldn't make an editor, you'd just use 3ds max or a program that exports models in 3ds-readable format.

The scripting (somewhat similar to cog) would be edited in notepad or another text editor. You'd make textures in Photoshop or PSP. That's how it would go. Sure they can make some editing tools to help us out (LEC isn't going to be releasing any, we know that for sure), but there won't be any level editor. It would just be a 3ds Max clone (what would be the point?).

Now, to your questions:

I'm wondering how smoothly the game runs, and if you saw any clipping or very noticible jaggies?

It looked smooth as silk. It will depend on your hardware setup of course, and they have yet to do more optimizing and other things, but it looks great thus far. I didn't see any clipping or anything, but I don't know if there will be any in the final release.

Also, in the multiplayer mode, is Darth Maul's double-bladed saber accessible?

That I don't know. It would assume that at least in SP DarthMaul would have his double-bladed saber (why wouldn't he)? But I didn't actually see that. The lightsaber duel the guys had in MP mode showed both characters (Obi and Maul) both using the same blue lightsaber. So we have to wait and see.

I also noticed in one of the pics on the net, Obi-Wan is presumably battling Saesee Tiin, the Jedi Council Member - would you know anything about that?

I don't even know who this "Tiin" character is, but I know that you fight a guy who looks exactly like that, and the LEC developers referred to him as a "Sith Agent" and said you'd fight a bunch of them in the later levels. They assured me that other than Darth Maul, you'll have plenty of people in SP to duel with. Since you are fighting to the death, my guess is that unless this "Tiin" guy is a Sith Lord, then it must just be another alien of his same species or something and not the actual same character.

Also, have the system requirements been announced yet?

The sys req's haven't been released yet, so I don't know.

The ObiWan machines we saw running (two of them) were using GeForce cards, and must have been pretty powerful. Since the game uses T&L and LOD, it will be up there. They insisted it would be a high end type of game, although like most high end games, you can turn down the detail and turn off features to increase performance. I'll probably have to wait until I get a better computer or a massive upgrade to run it (p233MMX, 64mb ram, voodoo2 8meg).

Email me questions guys! I'm glad to be of service.
