stalkeragt
hey all... I recently updates the drivers for my ati Radeon 64mb vivo video card using teh Catalyst 2.3 drivers from ati.. Now, when I want to play Jedi Outcast, i get an error message saying that no 3d hardware is installed on the system. Before I updated the video card drivers, the game was working fine, but now, nothing. Also, when I go to Device Manager, it says taht I have a Radeon 7200 video card installed, not a Radeon DDR. I tried different driver versions and still no luck, even the original drivers i was using before upgrading do not seem to work anymore. I did all teh necessary step before installing teh new drivers, I even cleaned out my system registry to get rid of all teh old ati files before the new driver installation, but still nothing. Please help..... also, I have found that when I open up teh Direct X diagnostics tool ( I have directx 8.1 installed) I notice that DirectDraw Acceleration and Agp Support under the display tab are both greyed out and unavailable. please help, I really do not wanna have to reformatt and start all over again... Thnaks... Here's my system specs..... db6
After updating the drivers, you need to reinstall the programs that depended on them since they link to files that have changed/do not exist anymore. You might want to uninstall Jedi Outcast (saving your Save Games if you want to...) reinstall whatever driver you want and check to make sure it gives you the correct video card ID when you go into the device manager (yep, it's kinda important!!!) You might then reinstall DirectX (download the latest from http://www.microsoft.com/directx) and then Jedi Outcast. Hope this helps......
