boggeyb
Okay. I've scanned through here and no one seems to have my problem. Here's the deal: I have a cable modem and usually get fantastic bandwidth. Well, a friend loaned me a machine and I thought I could set it up on my local area network as a dedicated server. When I try, I can't find it on any other computer on the Internet. I can only find it on my LAN. (Yes, I did set it to "dedicated" Internet). Furthermore, even when it shows up on my LAN, it has some weird parenthetical EBG or EGB or something after it. I dunno what that means either. I think I may have an IP issue with my home network. I am using the stupid 255.255.255.0/10.10.10.1 trick to make my home network. When I try to make my dedicated server, is it getting confused and not understanding how to send an IP over the internet? I use (yes, stupid) Microsoft Internet Sharing. My cable modem is hooked to the computer I *don't* want to host the server on. The server is just on the same network. Help! Please!!!
