Red Nine
Okay, bought this Logitech WingMan Attack 2 a couple months back and it's been alright untill about the middle of the 5th or 6th campaign. My ships now steer to the left when I release my hand from the stick altogether. Tried re-calibrating with the Windows Gaming Options window. Nada. I went to Logitech.com and downloaded and installed the WingMan Profiler, hoping that would do something. No dice. I want to try recalibrating one more time, but that option seems to have dissapeared from Gaming Options. Where'd it go? It's a USB device, and I can't figure out how to uninstall it. If I unplug it and plug it back in again, it's like it was never gone. Does XWA have an in-game calibrator like X-Wing and TIE Fighter did? I can't find any commnds. I bought a three-year warranty with it, so if I want I can simply take it back and exchange for a new one no charge if I have to.
Flying Beastie
I've had this problem before too; it means that your calibration is off (the X/Y axes aren't zeroing at the same point). It may fix itself if you turn on the game without your hand on the joystick (it's the weight of your hand that throws off the calibration). If that doesn't work, then just use the launcher, click on Hardware Options, then on Calibrate Joystick. Clear skies.
Red Nine
Thanks for the reply. I tried the calibrate button, all it did was bring up the Gaming Options box. No help there. I booted the game and loaded a skirmish without even TOUCHING the stick at all untill the load was done and I was flying. Same thing. I'm thinking it's the stick itself though - it's got some loose play in it I don't think it's supposed to have which seems to be affecting the position sensors. Guess I'll take it back and try a new one.
