DarthTenor
I've been looking for a lot of information about this game. I came up in reading some previews from forum goers here on Gamebuyers or Amazon.com. Some mentioned that he civs are unique. I didn't catch that part in Gabers posts in the developers forum. PErsonaly I thought that each civ had the same type of unit in each category. For instance Stormtrooper and rebel soldier are used for the same purpose. Could it be like AOK where each side had a militia but was different only in civ bonus and/or what was available for upgrades. I certainly wish it could be that the sides were indead different. Lets hope some of the bonuses affect them in different ways.
Guest ZeroXcape
DarthTenor: You assume correctly. Every civilization has the same units, only differently named. There are however a few individual units that are unique to each civilization. My favorite is the unique Wookie unit. They have a Wookie Berzerker which is unbelievable. DarthTenor
Yeah I knew about the unque units made in the fortress. Ithink my favorite will be the Gungan Faamba shield generator thing (i'm not sure it was called) even thought the Gungans won't be my favaoriti civ. It should provide unique starategies that way. It 's nice to see that the unique units will be used more frequantly unlike some uniques in AOC. (Tuetonic knight anyone?) My favorites so far Wookies, rebels, imperial trade naboo and Gungan in that order.
Guest ZeroXcape
Those are a great defense assuming your units want to stay within the range of the sheilding and not wonder off You definitely know an attack is coming when you see one of those giants in range. Guest Tie Guy
Well, i think that the civs will be more differfent than you give them credit for. They are not gonna be the same unit in a different suit. They are unigue, for instance, just because the wookie trooper has say....43 HP and 8 attack doesn't mean that the Stormtrooper will have 43 HP and 8 attack. they will be different, but they will be the samer class and level as the others. In AOK they were literrally the same unit in a different color or slightly different costume. Then they have the unique units, and the art is totlally different, unlike AOK. Lord JayVizIon
that was my biggest question as well. starcraft did a great job of differentiating the three civs to such a great degree that you really had to pay attention and memorize certain aspects. Aok didn't quite do that where most of the units were the same in different suits. the fact that mr fixit had a rating scale for the various classes of units tells you that a stormtrooper and a rebel trooper, for example, will not have the same specs. also, a rebel jedi will probably be more powerful than a gungan jedi.
