cant change player while playing in Mp

my escape button doesnt work, and when im playing on the internet I cannot chnage mny character and stuff. i cannot exit too. does anyone know how to chnage this or sumthing like make another button the escape button, or how do u chnage stuff in console? Please help me! thank you
