Takeoffyouhoser
If i were to group trees together to make a believable small wooded area, around my base entrance, how much affect would it have on framerates? say, 20 to 30 trees?
Leslie Judge
It depends on how many trianlges your tree models contain.
Darth Link
20-30 trees would most definately knock out your FPS. the yavin trees are pretty much all high in triangle count. i dont know if youd find more tree md3's unless of course you made it yourself.(pain in the arse)sorry if i didnt help much
Takeoffyouhoser
well, i actually have around 30 trees and i don't notice anything different from my interior level. I also have nearly 2,500 brushes which make my up my terrain, along with all those trees, its not even an issue. i guess with everyone talking about framerates constantly i got a bit spooked. all for not i am happy to say.... Leslie Judge
I looked your tree model and it's just 6 planes with two sided textures so that will not make any problem if you use more of it.
Takeoffyouhoser
i actually changed the trees to model number 2, the palm tree last nite. this causes a slight slight lag when i forcejump through the tops only. since i'm not having any force powers in my level, this, again, isn't causing any conflicts..
