ok. I just bought a dreamcast. Now, I liked JPB on the psx. didn't love it, but thought it was good. could somebody give me some ups and downs on the dc version? Is it better? Worse? Exactly the same? I am, by the way, a graphics junky. If a game LOOKS great, I usually like it. And so far I've not HATED any star wars games. I've pretty much enjoyed them all (unlike the rest of the world). So, how much of a graphics jump is the dc version? A big jump? If so, I'll probably like it. thanks.

I'll give you an honest answer. The control is much improved and the lock on works 10 times better. The graphics are a helluva lot nicer. Darth Maul has both of his blades when playable this time. The last level looks fantastic with the lightbeams and all. The lightsaber's glow is dead on as well. The sound effects and music are top notch. The vs mode is kinda neat but it is for 2 people only and it gets repetitive. The training modes are cool. Now the BAD: This game is extremely glitchy! Missing polygons, missing sounds, and to me the worst glitch of all - the secret character Ki Adi Mundi takes damage even while blocking when Ultimate Lightsaber is on. Is this game fun? I think so. I love to just turn it on, crank up the volume, enable Ultimate Lightsaber and just go hacking up battle droids. Is this game disappointing? Yes... but only because of the glitches and the feeling of it being rushed. My advice is to go buy it at Babbage's so if you're not satisfied you can take it back.

Guest hi Im mad

well, if you liked the PSX version, but didnt love it, than I wouldnt buy it because it is pretty much the same game. Although there is a big jump in the graphics. I mean playstation to DC? There is just no question. (I have played them both, and the DC graphics are better)

I bought both versions, and my verdict is still out on whether I should have. DC version is definitely better. For all my comments and a whole bunch more feedback from other people, look at an old post where many people answered this question. I posted on it 2 weeks ago, so you should not have to look too far back.

Hmmmmmm....

That sounds very suspicious...The PS2 is only supposed to smooth the graphics a little bit. I haven't seen it for myself though...but somehow I doubt that statement is true!

I had both versions and I put JP (PSX) into my PS2 and there was no big improvement. Granted it did smooth out some of the textures but it still didn't come close to the graphics of the DC.

If I had to get one version or the other (and assuming I could run both already), I'd get the DC version, because for all intents and purposes it is better overall.

However, the game itself doesn't seem to have enough going for it IMHO to warrant more than a rental of the DC version.
