Shao Posted December 19, 2002 Posted December 19, 2002 This is directed to the majority of expanded universe novel fans. In Dark Force Rising, Mara Jade explains something to Luke. "Vader nearly died for that blunder." Deliberately, she looked over at Luke's hands. "That was when he lost his right hand, in fact." [pg. 313 par. 4] But didn't Anakin lose his hand in Episode 2? I was reading the book today while in bed (I'm not feeling too well), and that thought came into my mind.
Reborn Outcast Posted December 19, 2002 Posted December 19, 2002 Weren't those books or games or wahtever written BEFORE the 2nd movie?
Clem Posted December 19, 2002 Posted December 19, 2002 EU is great but alas it is not cannon (its a book ... cant be a cannon 2 .... the explosives n pages .... could all get messy)
nova_wolf Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 In EpII, I think I am right in saying he lost his LEFT FOREARM. But according to Splinter of the Minds Eye, Luke removed it during his first/second (think 2nd) saber duel w/ Vader. And then there is that event Mara notes. Official Canon or not, I believe the order of believing goes: Original Trilogy, EU Books, ........................... ............................ .................. ........................................... ....... ............................................. .............. ................... ...... Prequel Trilogy
Jedi_Monk Posted December 20, 2002 Posted December 20, 2002 In EpII, I think I am right in saying he lost his LEFT FOREARM. Looking through the image archives on theforce.net, I found this picture from SW2, which clearly shows that Anakin's right arm was cut off by Count Dooku. Luke also cut off Vader's right hand in RotJ.
nova_wolf Posted December 21, 2002 Posted December 21, 2002 Thanks for the setting straight. Thought George Peorge had done it again! (Can see him going that Britney track - urgh! George - no - the pig tails do NOT make you look thinner! )
