Eagle_e7
It sounds as though your "info_player_start" (spawnpoint) may of become lodged in another brush. Try checking that it is completely free of any obstructions in your editor

Dragarius
Sounds to me (also) that your player is starting in another brush... but simple things first.. Make sure that you are using the proper key for moving...that your forward/back left/right keys are what you think they are. Make sure that your entity is not in the floor, even a little. (easy to miss in the xy view) Make sure you have no brush--transparent or semi-transparent--like a trigger or something that the entity starts in...or at least make sure that said brush is NOT solid. Maybe a trigger with the trigger texture, but still a worldspawn entity. If you still have trouble, try moving the entity into mid-air. He will fall a bit when he spawns, but he isn't real...is he? Lastly, (if you haven't guessed yet, I recompile a lot to solve my problems) try a simple one room box-type map and see if you have the same problem. DO NOT add any sort of effects, triggers, entities, etc in this map. Just a 6-sided box with your player entity in the center. Uh...if you add no light entity, use the nolight compile This should keep you busy for days...best of luck.
