Gohan_Trunksss Posted December 30, 2002 Share Posted December 30, 2002 Im in need of big help, my map in in the 14 MB range and without music included, ive seen maps bigger than mine and more complex with music and not even range in the 6 MB , how do i make this go down because i doubt anyone would download a 18 MB map. thanks for any help . DISorder Posted December 31, 2002 Share Posted December 31, 2002 Mostly your map is probably that size because you're using custom textures in the *.tga format which, because of its complexity, creates a very large image file. If you are using custom textures, i'd recommend only making the more noticible textures a .tga, and the less noticible/smaller textures a .jpg. So basically, for the textures that you WANT to have a large amount of detail in them, keep those a .tga, for the ones that dont need such a large amount of detail (one colored textures for instance) make those .jpg. Hope this helped DISorder EDIT: Tip: When taking screenshots, do a "/cg_draw2d 0" in the console to get rid of the "spectator" bar at the bottom of the screen :-D.
