Zathras23
I just finished building a Pentium4 computer for my home theater pc. When I try to start Jedi Knight 2 single or multi all I get is flicker. I think the game is trying to run a resolution or refresh rate that is incompatible with my monitor. I had the same stinking problem with my last computer with Wolfenstein. I forgot how I solved that. Max Payne works fine. I found the console command for setting the refresh rate: seta r_displayrefresh "60" but, I still get the flicker. I tried the program Refreshlock, but that didn't help either. Here are my specs: 1800mhz P4, not o/c'd, yet 512meg 333mhz ddr ATI Radeon 9700 Pro w/latest drivers Asus P4PE/GBL mobo Win XP Pro Jedi Knight 2 v1.04 The monitor is a RCA MM36110 36" TV/monitor. It is only capable of 800x600 at 60hz. I got it a couple of years ago. If anyone can recommend a newer TV/monitor that won't break me please do so. Is there a console command to change the resolution? That is the next thing I want to try. Thanks!
Zathras23
I found the answer by installing JK2 on my other computer and then configuring it to 800x600. The critical line in the jkconfig.cfg file is: seta r_mode "4" Default is "3" which would not work on the RCA MM36110. The command, seta r_displayrefresh "60", may or may not be needed in this instance.
