chorlton Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 Jedi Knight 2 run very poorly on my mac(a powermac g4 733 wirh 640mb ram and a geforce 2mx running mac os 10.2.3). Even at the lowest resolution with all the detail turned off I can only get about 20-30 fps. At 1024x768 it can go as low as 6fps. Is this how it's supposed to run? I have had no problems with return to castle wolfenstein or quake 3 so I was very dissapointed with jk2.
mandricard Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 1: turn on off EAX sound, and set sound to medium quality. 2: delete all cfg files in your home/library/application support/JediKnight and JediKnightMP files 3: try setting video settings to "default' 4: I assume your card is OpenGL compatible: make sure that openGL extensions are on. 5: wait for os 10.2.4 which is supposed to have a big graphics boost. Your machine should run the game very smoothly. If it is a MP problem, connect to servers with lower pings. this makes a huge difference. Also, you can try "force default models" when using MP. 6: use disk utility to repair permissions on your disk. Hope this is a help: also make sure no other applications are running when you run the game.
chorlton Posted February 13, 2003 Author Posted February 13, 2003 Thanks a lot for your help, it's playable with the detail on now.
