Lost Welshman
I would rather see a trilogy of films made about the Monkey Island games rather than a Star wars one. The Idea of an old guy teaching some young annoying people how to use the force is a bit scary. Im not sure if this does happen, just a guess. A Grim Fandango film would be cool aswell, if you dont know what grim fandango is check my avatar, and my sig to be: Basicly the Lucas Game, Grim Fandango is about the after life, a guy, Manny Calavera is stuck working off the bad things he did in life. Hes not a bad guy though. He has to sell the best afterlife package that he can to the customers, depending on how good they were in their past life. If they were really good they got a ticket on The 'No 9' express train to the land of eternal rest. Mannys Co-Worker, The one with the siyth(SP) in my sig, and his boss are selling tickets to people who dont deserve them, who get whats coming to them. The game is really good with a great storyline, a must for adventure game lovers. Is there a forum for Grim Fandango, wait a minute, ive gone off topic. There wont be a third trilogy, hey, a trilogy of trilogies. Not directed by George Lucas anyway, in my opinion.
HBK
I love SW, but GL lost his touch. He just doesn't write the way he did in the original 3. Maybe it's because hes aged, matured, and his style has changed. Now, I don't know why, but this thought always creeps into my head when I watch the first 3 and the 2 most recent: GL did not write both series. I believe that he had help writing the first 3 and most likely bought out the other writer or had him zipped up in a bizarre contract that kept the other person(s) quiet. I don't know, but he SHOULD let someone else take the series over, maybe his kids will let someone do it after GL is dead. There is so much material there, it would be a shame to 'waste' it all. As for the original question, GL won't make any more. To old.

mace_sundancer
HBK in case you failled to notice, lucas had help writing ESB and ROTJ and he also had help writing AOTC. leigh brackett and lawrence kasdan wrote ESB (some say this is why ESB is the best...), lawrence kasdan also co-wrote ROTJ and jonathon hales co-wrote AOTC... irishpump
When HBK was talking about writing in the scripts that made me want to address something that im curious if you guys feel the sameway. I really did enjoy epidsode 2. I thought it was pretty good the acting was really sketchy surprisingly enough because natalie portman has done some dynamic roles. But anyhoo...when i listen to the words that the characters speak they all seem to have the same personality. Nothing really sets them that far apart. YOu know how some writers are good at giving certain characters personality traits that make them stand out in comparison? Well its just seems that the writers involved didnt care about character development. They seemed more conecentrated on obi-wan and annikan. I dont know maybe its just me. There are some more silly things to me that bug me about the film. LIke when obiwan cant find the planet in the jedi archives so he goes to consult yoda and yoda asks for an answer from one of the kids he's training. Just seems silly. Seems to me that was an obvious guess that even obi-wans character should have been able to get. Just little things like that bug me. As for episode one i cant even begin. TO me everything was wrong with that one. As far as the "heat" that Lucas has gotten over the new trilogy i think some people forget that he got a lot of "hate" mail as well for empire strikes back because of how it ended. I never hear anyone mention that. But i think no matter what there is going to be complaints about something because so many of us are passionate about an idea that lucas had. So really Lucas did a great job in giving as a fantasy thats truly original. I just wish he could keep making the films regardless of flaws or bad judgement. I guess ill start looking at these books you guys keep mentioning. Im into comic books so i think ill start with dark horse first. lol this reminds me of batman. Man o Man the first two films with micheal keaton as batman were great...but then suddenly the movies started to stink real bad when the brough in robin, val kilmer, alicia silverstone, and georgieeeee cloony.....ick....when that happened i turned to Legends of the dark knight comic book...and its done pretty well to fix the mistakes of tim burton.
