Miss_Stalker
how do you set the start_off spawnflag for the light entity?
Leslie Judge
There should be a checkbox in the entity window above the key-value table. Aha, I checked, there isn't one in MP. Sorry then. It seems that this work for SP only.
Miss_Stalker
So the dynamic lights only work for sp? Or can I avoid the trigger option, just create a simple entity and give it the style? I tried it but it didnt work for me
Dragarius
Although I haven't tried it, Rich Diesel's tutorial has dynamic lighting available in MP maps, but without the helpful listing in the entity properties page.
Leslie Judge
Seems to not work. I loaded the test map in MP without recompiling just to see how it works. My light was lit however I set the start_off and in SP it is off. And the style was also ignored by the MP engine. If there is a way to make it work I'm not the person who can tell you how. Dragarius
I just tried it too. I couldn't get dynamic lights to work in my MP map. Could Rich be wrong? I am wondering if anyone still using JKIIRadiant has been successful with this. There must be a reason he wrote that it worked in MP...
Leslie Judge
He was wrong with weather effects too, and when I wrote a letter to him, he said he just wrote it, but never tested, and he didn't correct the issue in the tutorials, so yes, it is possible that he was wrong with this. If he could make it work, then my only thought is that the MP entity definitions files are different in Gtk and original JK2 editing tools, and that's a big problem. So if anyone can make it work with JK2Radiant and sof2map, he/she should tell it to the GtkRadiant developers.
