Lord_Frieza
I know, I know another ridiculous question no doubt: Sorry every1 Will someone kindly answer these questions? Here... a) Can I get Dynamic Music onto my single player map? (Tense music when you fight enemies as in the game). If so, how? A step-by-step guide would be admired but its ok if its not. b) Secondly I have asked this question previously but had no luck. What the hell do waypoints do, I mean the single option down the list not the waypoint_navgoals. There is hundreds of them in the real sp game ppl say they move the chara but in that case why not use point_combats? I have tried placing lots of waypoints down but the NPC just stands there, I have also binded the NPC to one of these waypoints but he still wont move through them. Will someone plz tell me the **secret** use for them coz they seem pointless to me right now. (I've even tried scripting the NPC's behavior state to BS_Wander but also to no avail. Help plz I would be very grateful if someone could help me with these questions
Leslie Judge
I can't give you a step by step explanation on how to make dynamic music, but I have to suggestions: 1. take a look at the ext_data/dms.dat file 2. use the search function of the forum, there are a few threads about dynamic music About waypoints. This is only a thought but I think they will use the waypoints, if the waypoints are linked into a chain with a point_combat at the end. Maybe the ending point_combat isn't necessary just the chain of waypoints. What I'm sure is the NPC has to be targeted to one of the waypoints. Just placing point_combats is not good, because NPC will go to the closest and maybe stay there. Warning: these are only speculations, since I never tried to use waypoints. Maybe you should contact with LDJ, he is trying to get some results.
000nate
Yes Leslie. Waypoints are used (when connected to a point_combat) The npc will run using the waypoint(s) as stoping points and also using the begining spawn point and point in combat as well. Most of the time they will linger at the waypoint than move to the next point(s) in the sequence composed of waypoints. and stop at the point in combat marker. Lord_Frieza
Would either of you consider waypoints as an important tool that is extremely useful? Or is it just a small advantage hardly noticeable?
Leslie Judge
It depends on what do you want to do. If you want your NPCs to follow a predetermined path, then use them.
