Can Someone tell me how to make saber sounds?

1) If you extract your assets0.pk3 (it's in your base directory and acts just like a Winzip file) you will see there is a directory called

\sound\weapons\saber

2) Create your own sounds using the same naming conventions as the files that are in there, and then re-zip your files (and directory structure) as a new PK3, anyone who dumps that PK3 in their base directory will now have your new saber sounds as a replacement.

3) I believe you must have them encoded as stereo MP3s (or WAVs, depending on the file) at 44khz

Best thing to do is maybe look at someone else's saber-sounds mod to see what they did (check out files section at http://www.jediknightii.net). I'm sure there are loads of tutorials out there too, I just don't know any off the top of my head.

In addition to the 44.1khz requirement I would highly recommend that use MONO samples rather than STEREO. Stereo works well for environmental sounds, but for anything positionable left or right, mono is the best choice. Plus, it cuts the file size in half since it only has one waveform. Smaller files are always a good thing!
