Leslie Judge
Let me give you a very useful tool. There's a search button at the top of this screen. Try to use that, and you'll find more answers than you might need. Forcefields are made with a forcefield like texture (actually a shader). You can find some in the test textures set. Look for the ones with white border around them in Radiant. And use the search button.
Hockey07
I read through pretty much every page of this mapping forum, hand by hand post by post, and that was my search function.. I saw millions of posts on how to make a button trigger the forcefield, but none on how to add them to the map.. Trust me, I started visiting and following the rules of forums over a year ago.. And I've been to over 10.. So I know about search functions. Trust me. I know about it all!
Leslie Judge
OK, sorry. So if you want your forcefield turn on/off, then you have to make it into a func_usable.
Dragarius
You can also use func_door and make the force field appear to retract like a light saber...but if it is not set fast enough it will look odd.

Yes. You can never know if someone already tried to search on the forums, even if you know that there are several threads where the question was already asked, and there were answers too. So to make sure everyone knows about it I post that search thing everywhere. I use it time to time to answer questions if I don't remember exactly what the answer is.
