pitrik
Hello all, I've read a newb's guide to AI scripting, but after downloading and studying some scripts, I am realizing that there are many more details that must be known and blanks to be filled in to TRULY tap into the full capabilities of AI. Where did Wok get all his info? Is LucasArts telling this stuff? Or is this knowledge carried over from AoK? If so, does anyone know a link to an in-depth tutorial or resource page? A "master class," if you will? Thanks in advance for your time - Your humble apprentice, pitrik
Darth Chuckles
Originally posted by pitrik Hello all, IWhere did Wok get all his info? some zealous individuals basically hacked apart all of the SWGB data files. The original AI scripts are stored in there. Once the originals are extracted, you can then figure out how the scripts work. Is LucasArts telling this stuff? Or is this knowledge carried over from AoK? LucasArts never said a word about it. AoK came with a tutorial manual on how to write your own scripts, and since SWGB scripts aren't much different, a lot of it is past experience, yes. If so, does anyone know a link to an in-depth tutorial or resource page? A "master class," if you will? AoK Heaven has an AI tutorial, as does SCN Punk, if memory serves. I *think* SWGBHeaven has the original (non-Clone Campaigns-enhanced) AI files in its download section. They have to be altered a bit to work with CC, but they're a good starting point. Wok
pitrik: I know there were things that I left out. I'm currently in the process of writing an expansion for the guide. It will include all (and I mean all) the functions available to scripters, and will teach you some more advanced things. Darth Chuckles: Thanks for answering those questions
Wedge007
Did you finish that yet, buddy? Or does anyone have a link, then, to a comprehensive guide/bible for scripting and stuff? Thanks!
