is it just my computer or does this game load at an extremely slow pace, i have enough time to read a magazine article everytime i die. Has anyone done a full 800 meg install of the game and if so does it speed up these terrible loading times?

I did the full install. With a P3 500 and 128ram it loads up in about 5 seconds after I die. It takes about 10 seconds the first time I start a level.

I have a p2-400 with 128MB and a full install, but mine still takes at least 30 seconds to start up.

I'm getting a lot of audio stuttering during loads, both startup and reload. Are you guys with the fast load times getting that? I show no DMA conflicts, but maybe Windblows is lying to me about something.

What about stuff running in the background? I've got several doobers in my system tray, and if you guys have nothing but a clock, I'll try killing them.

I have a P233 and 80 mb RAm and it takes 30 secs for loading after you die and up to a minute for firsttime loading with 800 mb installed. It however is not any slower with the minimum Installation

guess it depends on RAM and videomode how long loading takes

I noticed something today.

When the sound stutters during a load, the light on my HD acts up. They're connected, somehow. I have no DMA conflicts (that the system will display). Must be something to do with the bus mastering.

Last thing I want to do is hook a DAS up to my PC (like I have a DAS handy) and start debugging hardware...
