You might try to download some one else's saber mod and open up the pk3 file to see how they did it.

open up the originals to see what they changed,

they can be found (wherever jk2 is installed ) Now go to the base dir: open the assets0.pk3 with win zip, or pacscape, or win rar, now and go to \gfx\effects\sabers in here you will see the graphics that you can edit. now copy them or use the originals then save them as some thing else so you don't change the originals . Make a folder on your desk top name it gfx make a folder in that name it effects and make one more inside effects name it sabers, ok now make the changes you want to your graphics and save all the files in side the sabers folder on your desk top. once your happy with your changes. go to the folder gfx on your desk top (using winzip) right click and choose add to .zip *( do not choose to save full path) so you have a zip file called gfx.zip. Now rename manualy by right clicking the zip file and choosing rename. now call it my_sabermod.pk3 any name will do just has to be .pk3 (oh and save the the graphics files the same name as the originals. Ok now drop that puppy in your jk2\base dir: and load up to see your results fast open the consol and type map pit to view your new creation.

Good Luck svösh
