i keep on getting this error even though i have done several things like reinstall radiant jk2 and even delete every file and reinstall them all again the error is as follows:

BSP

SetQdirFromPath: no "base" in \e:)

(there is a smilie there ^)

the same error appears in light and vis but the no base in: changes to a bunch of weird characters and symbols

also there is a another error that pops up in a seperate window saying: sof2map caused an error in Kernal32.dll

sof2map will now close if you have this error again restart your computer

which i have done

ive gone to several forums to richdiesals website and several others, im at the point of exasperation :(

Erm, I know it is not exactly a solution to this problem, but did you ever consider switching to q3map2 as compiler?

You could get Q3Map2 here, . It's the newest version- and with this following program (get it here) you can easiely match those compiling options to those you like.

I currently use

BSP (custom)

-meta

VIS (custom)

-fast

Light (custom)

-filter

-patchshadows

-super [2]

plus -bounce [8] (for the final compile).

Hope this helps a bit.
