Problem with pressing a key and demo(s) files

I have a strange problem while trying to make a video file about some multiplayer game. It doesn't seem related to hardware because a friend of mine tried the same procedure on a very different machine, and the result is the same.

 

Here is the problem:

We had a multiplayer game on internet, I made a demo file like explain everywhere. So there is no problem: I am able to play it back in JK2. The next step is to work with the demo file to make a video, so the cl_avidemo command is useful.

From JK2 Multiplayer (patch 1.04), I loaded the demo file. I waited the loading, then I call the console by pressing a key (in my case Shift ²), and then the game exited and I was back on the interface screen where you have the option: Play - Setup etc. I got no error message nothing.

 

Then I thought it was due to the binding, ok, let's go and erase all configuration file. It was OK to make a new demo file. Once more, after when I wanted to do the "cl_avidemo" with this new demo file, I was pull out of the game and back to the interface.

 

Like I said at the beginning it's reproductible on various systems. My friend and I don't use the same hardware, whatever it is. I tried myself on another computer different from the one I have at home, and the problem is still the same. It seems that it occurs after loading the demo file and started to play it.

It's more strange because with the same demo file I already succeeded to make the 10,000 screenshots with the cl_avidemo.

 

Did you already have that problem? How did you solve it?
