target speaker sounds

This is seriously starting to mess with my mind...

 

I'm making a Single Player level, and am implementing ambient sound with target_speakers. Thing is, sometimes it seems to work and sometimes it doesn't. gah.

 

My areas are portalled off using a brush covered with the areaportal texture inside my doors. I'm not using custom sounds- theyre all out of the game and I'm assigning them to the "noise" parameter... characteristic...whatever..you know. I'm setting the sounds to "looping".

 

Im running JK2 Radiant on Windows XP. And spare me the "GTK is better" stuff.... I've read it a thousand times. It might be...but it acts as buggy as anything for me. I'll be switching to Windows2000 soonish...I'll try GTK again then.

 

I've done a search on the forums for this and can't find anything, hence this thread.

 

So. Any ideas? Help would be appreciated. You never know, you might even find yourself playing a half decent SP level if I can nut this one out.
