DarthAlder
G'day all, I'm wanting to create a server for me and a few mates on the internet, that uses Jedimod v 1.02. to do this I have to type something in the command line ( so the readme file says) but I have no idea how to do this. Could someone please give me some (very comprehensive ) intructions on how to do this? Also is there any thing else I need to know to create a server, such as info. in the advanced settings menu? Thanks Trav.
TheAphextwin
You may want to take a look at Jedi Runner over at http://www.gamerunners.com also check the online FAQ section for a step by step on setting up a MOD
DarthAlder
Thank mate. I download and installed Jedi Runner as suggested, but still no cigar. Should there be an icon to start Jedi ruuner somewhere? I've got the help file & Jedi Runner.cnt file, but can't work out where to go from here. Is the answer somewhere in the help file?, or am I just missing something? I'm only new at this, so you may have to be very concise. Now be gentle on me, this is my fisrt time! Regards, Trav.
EvilCrow
I'll explain: First extract all of the mod files to a folder called "jedimod" in your JK2/GameData/ folder. Secondly, make a shortcut (wherever you want it, maybe on your desktop), and make it direct to your JK2 multiplayer application, jk2mp.exe, now, right-click the shortcut and select "Properties", and find the box which says "Target", you'll see the path to jk2mp.exe there. Now after the end quote, add this: +set fs_game jedimod So it'll say: "C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast\GameData\jk2mp.exe" +set fs_game jedimod Now, run the shortcut, and run the server like you would normally. But instead, you'll also be running the Jedimod as a server-side. If you are still having problems, private message me. Completely forget about Jedi Runner, I would never recommend using it no matter what the situation.
TheAphextwin
EvilCrow, "Completely forget about Jedi Runner, I would never recommend using it no matter what the situation." May I ask why? I find that remark interesting as you give no reason. FYI Ken @ Raven highly recommends Jedi Runner for those new to server administration. Heh, just noticed the advertisement in your signature. Well, I personally don't like it because to me it's unnessecery and more buggy to me than anything. Making a server with the right configs instead of using a game runner is much more stable for me.
