Okay there... Im new to all this and as Im a wee bit older than probably most of you out there (68!) so please forgive me.

Im trying to get my grandson to connect to my multiplayer game but he can never find me on the list or connect to me in any way!! help!!!

I create Server (v 1.04)

Dedicated server: no

when im in the game and I select the "about game" on the menu bar it says Host name:Bricktop Address:Localhost etc....

how do i get my grandson to connect to my game? what does he have to do???

he adds me to his favourites by inputting my IP address but it keeps saying "awaiting gamestate 1, 2 , 3 etc and counts up the seconds without doing anything

Can any of you good people out there help me?? It would make my day!

Thankyou all... this is a great forum for me!! Bricktop

Welcome to the forums Bricktop, enjoy your stay.

First, I would like to suggest that you follow the instructions in the site below (if you scroll down, it goes through the steps of hosting a game):

http://www.theforce.net/games/jo/multi_walk.shtml

If you follow the steps and the person connecting to your computer also follows the approperiate steps outlined there, yet you can't get a game going, I'd have to conclude that you might have a firewall/router that's blocking outside users from connecting to your computer (this is also valid if you have Windows XP since the firewall is enabled by default).

If this is the case you might have to go through some extra steps to open up the ports needed for players to connect to your computer.

Good Luck
