No one yet knows the exact method for becoming FS, but this much is known: 1. It does not happen as soon as you log in for the first time. You have to do "something" in-game to unlock the slot. 2. Your character does not "become FS". When you accomplish #1 above, it will open an additional character slot on that server for you.
