I've figured out that you need to activate the pressure switch to raise the block and get the machine part. I think I might have gone to far because Indy says something about the blue stones and I'm already too low to grab them... or am I? Run under blue crystals above you then activate it....you'll float up to walkway then hit "alt" key and when snake is over spike holes in floor step on platform, which will lower and raise the spike...just wait till snake is over it... I got to the spot under a jewel, used the machine part and rose up in the air, but when I hit the alt key Indy drops to the floor (if he's floating) then gets killed by the snake or if Indy's up on the platform, he just jumps when the alt key is hit.
