help saving wookie (spoiler)

I am unable to save the wookie. I get attacked by about 6 guys. I have myself and 2 NPC's. They die after one hit. How can I save the wookie?

Here's what I did:

 

 

Frag grenades - lots of them.

 

 

You might also want to:

 

right before going into battle use whatever energy shields you may have.
